Okotoks Outlaws Baseball Experience: 2026 Season

The Outlaws Baseball program provides players and parents of the Foothills Minor Baseball Association (FMBA) an avenue to play competitive ball at a high level. We strive for excellence through hard work and a positive competitive spirit. Outlaws players, coaches, and parents represent our community as positive role models.

Player Development

As an Outlaws player, your child will:

  • Improve the technical skill set necessary for competitive play.

  • Experience the benefits of overcoming adversity.

  • Improve physical fitness.

  • Learn dedicated focus toward achieving athletic goals.

⚠️ Player Commitments

Playing Outlaws baseball requires a commitment to Time, Travel, and Finances. With a roster of only 12 players per team, attendance at all practices, games, and team functions is expected. If your family has high commitment levels in other sports or planned vacations, please discuss this with the association prior to evaluations. We aim to ensure roster spots are filled by full-time, dedicated players.

What to Expect:

  • Weekly Schedule: 2 to 3 weekday practices.

  • Weekend Commitments: Games and tournaments usually 2 to 3 weekends per month.

  • Season Duration: May through July (potentially including the August Long Weekend for Provincials).

  • Tournaments: Typically 2 to 3 independent tournaments (often May Long Weekend and a weekend in June/July).

  • Travel: Games are scheduled by Baseball Alberta. While most travel is between Okotoks and the Edmonton area, Provincials can be held anywhere in the province.

💰 2026 Fees & Fundraising

The total cost per player is a combination of registration fees and team-specific funds. Fundraising by players and parents is expected to help offset these costs.

  • Fundraising: The level of fundraising is determined by the team manager. If you choose to forgo fundraising, team-issued funds will be divided among participating families rather than refunded.

  • Apparel: Branded Outlaws apparel will be available for purchase. A portion of the apparel lineup is mandatory for all players.

  • 2026 Fees: $875
  • There will also be a team cash call decided by team manager (usually around $250)

⚾ Evaluation Process

Start Date: Evaluations are scheduled to begin the week of February 2nd

Evaluations are conducted under the direction of the Outlaws Director with independent evaluators from the Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Club. Players are evaluated on skill, development potential, and perceived dedication to ensure they are placed at the appropriate level.

  • Mandatory Sessions: Two open sessions per division.

  • Placements: Players not rostered on an Outlaws team will be offered to be moved house league program.

🧢 Coaching

Coaches are selected from applications submitted to FMBA. We strongly encourage parents to apply, as parent involvement is integral to fielding our teams.

All Outlaws coaches must meet FMBA and Baseball Alberta requirements.
